For drivers who love variety and meaningful work, HEB Construction delivers.

Required Qualifications and Skills

HEB Construction is looking for experienced, safety-conscious Class 5 drivers who can hit the ground running. To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience operating heavy combination vehicles, preferably in a civil construction, roading, or earthworks environment
  • Knowledge of NZTA road transport compliance regulations including Hours of Service (HOS) rules and load security requirements
  • Experience with tipper truck operations, dump trucks, or aggregate haulage is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with site traffic management plans and the ability to follow STMS instructions safely
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a police background check
  • A clean driving record — a key requirement for all HEB fleet drivers
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality — civil construction projects depend on drivers showing up and delivering
  • Physical fitness to handle site conditions and some manual support tasks
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand — NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid NZ work visa

Drivers who hold additional endorsements such as Dangerous Goods (D endorsement), Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers (WTR), or Forklift certification will find their applications viewed very favourably.
